Urology
Research:
During the period from 1998-2000, the Department of Urology Laboratories
have continued to grow in space, personnel, funding, and productivity.
Additional research space in the Coleman Building of over 2,000 square feet
was allocated to the Department of Urology during this period. In combination
with the relocation of the academic faculty and staff offices, the total
research area is now approximately 6,500 square feet. During this extremely
productive two-year period the department obtained significant increases in
grant funding, faculty made numerous national/international presentations,
and authored many publications. This has greatly improved the visibility and
reputation of The University of Tennessee Department of Urology. Based on the
success of the past two years, it is anticipated that additional research
funding will be successfully obtained to expand the magnitude and scope of
research within the Department of Urology.
