1988-1990. Dr. Steiner became an American Foundation for Urologic Disease
Scholar with Dr. Harold Moses at Vanderbilt University investigating the role
of peptide growth factors in prostate cancer. Dr. Steiner became Assistant
Professor of Cell Biology, Urology, and Pathology at Vanderbilt University,
Nashville, TN in 1992-1995. Dr. Steiner joined the Department of Urology at The
University of Tennessee, Memphis as Director of Urologic Oncology and
Research, and Associate Professor of Urology and Pharmacology in 1995. Dr.
Steiner's research focused on chemoprevention of prostate cancer, the role of
peptide growth factor in benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostate cancer gene

anatomic dissections, Dr. Steiner has developed the continence preserving
anatomic radical prostatectomy. He is on the editorial board of Gene Therapy
