H1N1 Influenza Vaccine Administration Day

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2009

Madison/Plaza Lobby

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, University Health Services (UHS) has received a limited supply of the pandemic H1N1 vaccine and will be administering the vaccine as stated below at no charge.

Beginning at 9:00 a.m.

All pregnant employees

All staff, faculty and residents who have direct patient contact

All students from all disciplines who are on rotation with direct patient contact

If any vaccine remains after 11:00 a.m., we will administer to any UTHSC students, employees, post-docs, residents,  and retirees with a valid UT ID badge. Please do not come before 11:00 a.m. if you are not in the above listed categories.

This H1N1 vaccine is only available in multidose vials, therefore it does contain thimerosal. The CDC states that there is no convincing evidence of harm due to thimerosal. UHS expects to receive additional doses. If received, another flu shot day will be planned.

No shots will be administered prior to this date.

Sponsored by: The Office of Student Life, APhA-ASP, College of Pharmacy, the SGAEC, University Health Services, and the College of Nursing.
