About Tipton

Tipton County is located in West Tennessee, 18 miles north of Memphis. Covington, approximately 35 miles north of Memphis and the location of the family practice center, is the county seat and largest of eight incorporated towns. Atoka, Brighton, and Munford are located in South Tipton County. Tipton County offers the advantages of small-town living with the nearby amenities of a major city.

The population of the entire county is approximately 50,000. Covington's population is around 10,000.

The prevailing climate is temperate, offering four distinct seasons. The average annual average temperature is 59.7. The monthly average high temperature for January is 46.0 and for July 91.2. The monthly average low temperature for January is 27.4 and for July 69.1. The annual average precipitation is 51.16". The average annual snowfall is 7.2".
