UTHSC Telehealth
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center Telehealth Network is a partnership of health care providers, researchers, technicians and administrators dedicated to improving access to quality health care services and education for medically underserved communities. Our goals are to:
- Provide access to medical services to isolated populations by providing specialty care or second opinions – “to fill in gaps”.
- Develop and implement programs to improve access to health education for families and clinicians.
UTHSC Telehealth delivers medical specialty and subspecialty healthcare to patients across Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas, providing access to medical services that may otherwise be unavailable. Services include, but are not limited to:
- Psychiatry
- Cardiology
- Radiology
- ENT
- Oncology
- Dermatology
Cutting edge technology delivers clinical services efficiently by saving patients and doctors’ time and travel. Telehealth is also used to deliver a quick diagnosis to see if a patient needs to travel to a larger hospital or if they can wait to get care later. For the past seven years, UT has had high patient and provider satisfaction in getting care to those who need it and continues to expand its scope and delivery of services geographically.
