All appointments to the postgraduate training program in General Surgery at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, are made through the NRMP (National Residency Match Program).
All information is to be submitted to the Department of Surgery through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service). Note: USMLE Step 2 Clinical Knowledge score is now required for all applicants.
The criteria for selection of career surgery residents is based upon:
Interviews are required for consideration and invitations will be sent to prospective participants through ERAS. All interview dates are on Wednesdays and should be scheduled well in advance. Residents and applicants meet for dinner on the Tuesday night before each interview date. Hotel information will be sent to scheduled applicants. On the day of the interview:
