Meet our Faculty

  Professor and Chairman

David L. Maness, D.O., M.S.S., F.A.A.F.P.

 

 

Dr. Robert Kirkpatrick - Program Director received his MD degree from the University of Tennessee and also did his residency at the University of Tennessee in the Saint Joseph East Family Practice Residency Program (which was the original name for our program before it moved to Saint Francis Hospital in East Memphis). He graduated from the residency in 1978 (one of the first graduates of the program). Dr. Kirkpatrick is married and has one daughter. 

Dr. Cecilia Dowsing-Adams is a graduate of the Baptist Hospital-Healthplex Family Practice Residency program.  After graduation from that program, she stayed on as faculty.  She is a full-time faculty of the Saint Francis FM Residency.  Dr. Dowsing-Adams is married and has one child.

 

Dr. Sheila Thomas was a graduate of the Baptist Hospital-Healthplex Family Practice Residency Program.  After graduation, she stayed on as faculty for the Healthplex program.  Currently, she is a full-time faculty for the Saint Francis FM Residency.

Dr. John McCall is an Associate Professor and Director of Faculty Development and Special Programs (including Research and International Programs). His primary office is based at the residency site.  He has graduate degrees in Anthropology and Sociology.  His teaching focus is in wellness and integral medicine through the Ark Wings Integral/Wellness Model.  Dr. McCall is married with three married children and one grandchild.
Dr. Robert Hoover
Dr. Raymond Walker, A graduate of Michigan State, graduated from UT, Memphis Medical School in 1992. He performed his residency at the UT/Baptist HealthPlex program in Memphis from 1992 to 1995 and continued in the Fellowship on Advanced Women's Health Care from 1995 to 1997. Upon completion of his fellowship, he joined the faculty in 1998.  He is married to Mary Ellen.
Dr. Oleumfi Soyinka, is a fellow at the University of Tennessee, College of Medicine.
Virginia Shelton, F.N.P.,  graduated from the Washington (DC) Hospital Center.  She received her BSN and MSN from the University of Tennessee, Memphis.  She is married and enjoys reading, sewing, and historical re-enactments.  She states she has been here "forever"!
  Dr. Jeremy Thomas is a Pharm.D. with the University of Tennessee, Department of Pharmacy.  He attended the University of Central Arkansas and received his Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  After graduation Dr. Thomas completed his residency training at the Regional Medical Center in Memphis. 
Dr. Amanda Thompson, is a Pharm D. with the University of Tennessee, Department of Pharmacy.
