Surplus Property Auctions and Sales

 

On-line Auctions

Certain surplus property is sold utilizing GovDeals Internet on-line auction site. Please go to this link to view items that are currently for sale by this campus. Occasionally, older vehicles may also be sold by on-line auction. Individuals interested in purchasing surplus property should periodically check this link for bidding opportunities. In addition, surplus property from other campuses within the University of Tennessee system can be found on The University of Tennessee Surplus Property On-Line Auction link. University of Tennessee and other State of Tennessee employees are also permitted to bid on and purchase surplus property via on-line auctions, but they must use a personally-owned computer on personal time.

Registering for Auctions and Sealed Bid Sales
Members of the public that want to receive copies of legal notices advertising public auctions and notifications of sealed bid sales should send a request to Jim Randolph by email to jrandolph@utmem.edu or by fax to 901-448-2960. The request should include complete contact information including name, company name, address, phone number, email address, and fax number. Also indicate whether there is an interest in auctions, sealed bid sales, or both. If you are interested in bidding on certain types of equipment, this should be indicated as well. Public On-site Auctions
Periodically, the Health Science Center in Memphis will sell surplus equipment at public on-site auctions. University of Tennessee and other State of Tennessee employees are permitted to purchase University surplus property at on-site auctions. These auctions are advertised in the Legal/Public Notices section of the classified ads in The Commercial Appeal . Notices are also sent over the campus AIB listserv. Generally, on-site auctions are only held every 6 to 12 months.
