Interests:
Cognitive-behavioral interventions for physical activity, tobacco usage,
and dietary habits in women and other underserved populations. Emphasis
on relation of psychsocial factors, mental health, health habits, and
perceived quality of life with health outcomes.
Comments:
Recently submitted a grant to the CDC entitled "Peer-led Active
Choices Trial" (PACT) to test dissemination models of physical activity
programs in adults age 50 and older. This is a community-based participatory
prevention research project conducted by UTHSC Department of Preventive
Medicine in collaboration with The Church Health Center, Hope and Healing,
MIFA, and NewPathways Neighborhood Development Corporation.
