The PICU at Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center is a 20 bed multidisciplinary unit with over 1,400 admissions yearly. Admission includes both medical and post-surgical, the latter divided between cardiovascular, neurosurgical, and general surgical (including trauma). The PICU team is involved in the management of all patients, thus providing a unique opportunity for fellows to learn about the care of all types of critically ill children.
