Mary Kay Bartek, M.D.

Mary Kay Bartek, M.D. University of Washington School of Medicine
Dr. Bartek grew up in Gallatin, Tennessee. After graduating from Gallatin High School, Mary Kay ventured east to Haverford College in Philadelphia. Four years later, she decided to explore the West Coast and moved to Seattle, Washington working with AmeriCorps. Seattle was so beautiful that Mary Kay decided to stay four more years and attend medical school at the University of Washington. While the East Coast was lovely, and the West Coast was great, Mary Kay found that she really missed her home state. She is delighted to finally be back in Tennessee!


Blake Bergeron, M.D.

Originally hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, Dr. Bergeron found his way to Memphis for medical school after graduating from Davidson College in 2003. While majoring in Psychology at Davidson, he met and convinced the most beautiful woman in the world to date him. They’ve been married eight months! Blake is always up for a game of pick-up basketball or football, a video game or a great book. During football season, you can find him supporting the Vols, the Titans and, of course, the Davidson Wildcats! He likes books, movies, a well cooked meal, and competing in just about anything. If not at the hospital, you can probably find Blake somewhere on Kentucky Lake.


Lynzie Boudreaux, M.D.

Lynzie Boudreaux, M.D. Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans
Dr. Boudreaux grew up in Lafayette, a small town in south Louisiana which explains the funny letters at the end of her name. She graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge (GEAUX TIGERS!), where she majored in Microbiology and minored in Sociology. Lynzie stayed in Louisiana for medical school where she attended LSU in New Orleans, so she is very excited to move to a new state. In her free time, Lynzie enjoys traveling, reading, shopping, watching movies, and spending time with family and friends


Kim Buie, M.D.

Kim Buie, M.D. The University of Tennessee College of Medicine
Born in St. Louis (Go Cards!), Dr. Buie has called Tennessee home for the last 16 years. She attended UT Martin where she met Ramie, her wonderful husband of four years. She then followed her interest in Public Health and Infectious Diseases to Emory where she received her MPH. Her medical training was completed in Memphis at The University of Tennessee where her husband is in nursing school. They are very excited about the purchase of their first home and invite all to stop by and visit! Kim enjoys hanging out with family and friends, trying new restaurants and recipes, watching way too much TV, and playing with her adorable mutt, Xander.


Lauren Chipman, M.D.

Dr. Chipman was born in Memphis, Tennessee and raised in Lucy, a small community north of Memphis. She attended college at Union University in Jackson, Tennessee and received a BA in Christian Studies. While at Union she met her wonderful husband Steven, and they were married in May of 2002. Steven is a physical therapist. They have participated in international medical missions and are actively involved in their church. They also enjoy outdoor activities and playing with their spoiled black Labrador Retriever, Johnny Cash.


Ashley Davis, M.D.

Dr. Davis was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama where her family still resides. She graduated magna cum laude from Alabama State University (Go Hornets!) with a BS in Biology. During medical school, she was very much involved with the Student National Medical Association where she served as the school’s chapter secretary for a year. Ashley enjoys reading, walking, and spending time with family and friends.


Monique Foster, M.D.

Dr. Foster was born in Pensacola, Florida but soon moved overseas where she spent most of her childhood. Monique received a BS in Biology and a BA in History from East Carolina University before attending medical school at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She is an avid reader and loves movies. Monique also likes to watch the History Channel and cook. She is very interested in international health and hopes to travel.


Blakley Fowler, M.D.

Dr. Fowler was born and raised in the small town of Corinth, Mississippi. Blakley met her husband Jake when they were in the 8 th grade, but have been going strong since their senior year of high school. They have spent their entire four year marriage long distance with Jake commuting anywhere from two to four hours to see her every weekend. She went to medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Blakley and Jake plan on returning to Corinth once her residency is complete. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her pug, playing board games, and cooking and grilling out with Jake.


Aubrey Gibbs, M.D.

Dr. Gibbs was born and raised in Texas. She attended high school in the very tiny town of Avery, Texas (population 350). She then went to Austin College in Sherman, Texas where she obtained a BA in Psychology and met her husband Mark, an orthopedic resident in Memphis. He attended medical school in Galveston, Texas and she went to the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. After dating six years, they finally tied the knot in March of 2007! They look forward to being in the same place at last! Aubrey enjoys spending time with friends and family, all desserts, reading a good book, Sunday drives, and a variety of outdoor activities with her new husband.


Annie Glover, M.D.

Annie Glover, M.D. The University of Tennessee College of Medicine
Annie was born and raised on a farm in Springfield, Tennessee (just north of Nashville). While attending Rhodes College in Memphis, she completed an internship at Le Bonheur and realized she wanted to become a pediatrician. Annie then briefly escaped the state of Tennessee for a year of working and playing in Vail, Colorado. She returned to Memphis for medical school and is thrilled to stay for residency and continues to hang out with friends in their beloved Midtown. Annie loves to travel and has studied abroad in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, and Spain. Her other interests include snow skiing, water skiing, camping, hiking, food, going to Dollywood, and trying to keep her plants alive in her apartment.


Megan Higgins, M.D.

Born in a small town in northern Illinois, Dr. Higgins moved to Paris, Tennessee (Home of the World’s Biggest Fish Fry) when she was eleven years old. Megan earned her BS in Biology from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky. During her senior year, she married her husband, Michael. She attended medical school at James H. Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City, Tennessee. Her daughter, Ava Elizabeth was born at the end of her third year. Megan enjoys outdoors, music, cooking, movies (especially romantic comedies and horror films) and spending time with family and friends.


Erika Morris, M.D.

Dr. Morris was born in Miami, Florida to an American mother and a Norwegian father. After moving around from state to state and one continent to another, she settled in Memphis during her elementary school years. Erika attended The University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she met her loving husband, Todd. Following college, she moved to Washington, DC to start her first “real” job. She returned to Memphis to attend medical school at The University of Tennessee. In her free time, Erika enjoys traveling, running, UT football games, spending time with Todd, their dog Lincoln and cat Lola, and of course Starbucks shared with friends!


Kacy Ramirez, M.D.

Except for a few years in Fairfax, Virginia, Dr. Ramirez grew up in San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from University of the Incarnate Word in SATX, worked for several years in college and briefly before med school doing Infectious Disease research. During college Kacy met Armando, now a general surgery resident at The University of Tennessee and they married during medical school. Having three younger siblings, a lot of free time has always been spent with family. She also likes spending time outdoors camping, hiking, and biking. Kacy loves entertaining and spending time with friends and traveling to new places.


Whitney Sanders, M.D.

Whitney was born and raised in the small town of Humbolt, Tennessee, which you may have heard of as the Strawberry Capital of Tennessee…then again, maybe not! She attended the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga for undergraduate, where she majored in Biology. After college Whitney moved to Memphis to work at the Church Health Center for a year before starting med school at UT. In her spare time Whitney enjoys reading, traveling (especially backpacking through Europe when time and money allow), finding new places to eat and drink in Memphis, trivia nights, and jogging.


Lynn Kink, M.D.

Dr. Kink was born and raised in the very quaint town of Nashville, Illinois. She graduated from St. Louis University with bachelor degrees in Psychology and Biology before heading to Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield, Illinois. Lynn enjoys hiking, most things outdoors, painting, running, movies, cooking, quilting with her grandma, music, Cardinals baseball, and volunteering for the Muscular Dystrophy Association Summer Camp, where she spent the last eight summers.


Theresa Sheppard, M.D.

Theresa Sheppard, M.D. Southern Illinois University School of Medicine
Dr. Sheppard grew up in the small town of Olive Branch, Illinois. She attended Southeast Missouri State University and graduated with a BS in Interdisciplinary Studies. While volunteering in the local ER during her undergraduate years she met her husband, Derek. Theresa moved to Springfield to attend SIU School of Medicine, while Derek moved to Rock Island as part of his commitment to the US Navy. Theresa was blessed to have her mother and father relocate to Springfield during her medical school years. She and Derek have two children, Zac who is a very bright second grader, and Olivia who is a very active three year old. Derek will soon join her in Memphis due to his relocation to the Millington Naval Base. Theresa is thrilled to have her whole family together in Memphis!


Carlenda Smith, M.D.

Carlenda Smith, M.D. East Tennessee State University College of Medicine
Dr. Smith was born and raised in Nashville, Tennessee. She attended Hampton University in Virginia for undergrad where she received a BS in Biology. Carlenda went to ETSU for medical school and was actively involved with SNMA and other clubs. In her free time, she enjoys working out, cooking, reading, painting and ballet.
