Katie Alvord, M.D.
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center
Dr. Alvord was born in Ottumwa, Iowa and raised in Stevens Point, a small town in central Wisconsin. Following her graduation from Washington and Lee
University, she took her degree and landed her first job as a waitress in a Wisconsin pub – at which she did not find her true calling. She then
moved to Memphis and met her loving husband, Brice, while working at the Church Health Center. Subsequently, she attended medical school at The
University of Tennessee Health Science Center. In her spare time, Katie enjoys cooking, jogging, church, hiking, camping, cheering for the
Grizzlies, movies, long drives in the country, traveling and hanging out with friends and family.
Tonya Griffin, M.D.
University of South Alabama
Born and raised in Mobile, Alabama Dr. Griffin moved between Maryland, California and Texas at ages 4-7 because her dad was in the Navy. She is an extremely proud
graduate of Florida A & M University (Go Rattlers!) where she received a BS in Biology. While there she enjoyed being active in her church’s collegiate choir,
volunteering at a local elementary school and emergency room. Tonya enjoys traveling and spending time with friends and family
