Professor of Pediatrics
Dr.
Deborah Jones completed her pediatric nephrology fellowship at UTHSC in
1989 and was appointed Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the UTHSC

are fluid and electrolyte therapy, renal physiology and pathophysiology
as part of the renal module for second year medical students. Her clinical
interests include dialysis, tubular disorders, acute renal failure, bone
and mineral disorders, and oncologic nephrology. She has co-authored chapters
on tubular function and acute renal failure.
More recently, Dr. Jones has developed an interest in ambulatory blood
pressure monitoring (ABPM) as a tool to study mechanisms and natural history
of hypertension in children. Dr. Jones clinical research project, End organ damage in children with chronic hypertension is
funded by the NHLBI. Dr. Jones has been the center principal
investigator or principal physician investigator on nine industry sponsored
studies on safety and efficacy of anti-hypertensive medications in children.
