Biography: Charles R. Handorf, M.D., Ph.D., a native Memphian, is the Chairman of the Department of Pathology and Professor of Pathology of the University of Tennessee, Memphis. He is President and Associate Pathologist of the Duckworth Pathology Group, Inc. and President-elect of the medical staff of Methodist Healthcare, Memphis. He is a Member of the Tennessee Department of Public Health Laboratory Licensure Board. Previously, he was Chair and Director of Laboratories of Methodist Healthcare, Memphis. Dr. Handorf currently serves as Secretary/Treasurer of the board of the Tennessee Medical Association. Dr. Handorf received his undergraduate degree from Rice University in Houston, Texas in 1973; his M.D. degree in 1977 and his Ph.D. in Medicinal Chemistry in 1981 from the University of Tennessee, Memphis. His pathology training was completed at the University of Tennessee and Methodist Hospitals of Memphis. He is certified by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology. He is a fellow of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the College of American Pathologists, a member of the Memphis Society of Pathologists, Tennessee Society of Pathologists, American Medical Association, Tennessee Medical Association, and the Memphis and Shelby Country Medical Society.
