Biography: Following graduation from and an internship at Vanderbilt University Medical School, Dr. Chesney did his pathology residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital. There, he served as Chief Resident in Pathology and held a Fellowship in Dermatpopathology. Dr. Chesney also taught at Harvard Medical School, then was Chief, Laboratory Service, at the Uniten States Navy Regional Medical Center from 1974 - 1976. (LCDR, MC, USNR). He has been a pathologist at Baptist Memorial Hospital since 1976, serving as Director of Laboratories and Chairman of the Department of Pathology since 1995. He is also President of Pathology Group of the Midsouth, Chairman of Consultative Services for Baptist Memorial Hospital, a member of the Medical Executive Committee, and Chairman of the Performance Improvement for the Metro Memphis Hospitals.Research Interests: Dr. Chesney's interests are diagnostic surgical pathology, dermatopathology, medical education, and hospital and medical staff performance improvement. |
