Fellowship Programs

The University of Tennessee - Campbell Clinic Department of Orthopaedic Surgery sponsors five (5) subspecialty fellowships for graduates of accredited orthopaedic surgery residency programs. These fellowships are as follows:

Description of Pediatric Orthopaedic Fellowship

Description of Foot and Ankle Surgery Fellowship

Description of Spine Surgery

Description of Trauma Fellowship

Description of Sports Medicine Fellowship

Two of these fellowships, Sport Medicine, and Pediatric Orthopaedics, are currently accredited by the American Medical Association's Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). The University of Tennessee Orthopaedic Surgery Residency Program with which all subspecialty fellowship proograms are affiliated, has held full accreditation with ACGME since May 6, 1961.

Each fellowship has a director who determines curriculum within the guidelines of the ACGME and in cooperation with the director of resident education. Directors are assisted by Campbell Clinic staff physicians and other department faculty who have special interest and expertise in specified subspecialty areas. Fellows work with patients in clinic and surgery, assisting/supervising residents in clinic and surgery, and in teaching conferences for both residents and medical students.
