EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) is designed to provide free, confidential counseling to UTHSC employees and their eligible dependents. Employees and eligible dependents who are experiencing personal or work place problems should contact Cynthia Tooley, Coordinator, Office of Equity and Diversity, at 901.448.2112 or ctooley@utmem.edu for assistance.

Additionally, the state of Tennessee's EAP Program provides free short-term counseling and brief legal advice for regular employees who are scheduled to work at least 75% (30 hours per week) time. The spouse and dependent children of an employee in this category also qualify for the free benefit. UTHSC employees may also contact EAP directly by calling 1.800.308.4934 for assistance.

DEPRESSION SCREENING PROJECT
Tennessee's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides free, confidential screening for depression and alcohol problems. Employees and their family members may call or log online to participate in a self-test assessment which provides immediate feedback and referral regarding these issues. The online access is www.MagellanHealth.com.  To access the site for the first time, members will be prompted to enter the toll-free EAP number (1.800.308.4934). They may then set up their own unique account number and password for confidential and anonymous access to a wide variety of information and resources.
