Practice Programs
A majority of the tenured and tenure-track faculty of the UT College of Nursing are prepared as advanced practice nurses and actively engage in faculty practice at one of the practice sites operated by the College of Nursing. The College also employs additional advanced practice nurses to complement staffing at various practice sites.
The practice sites are extremely diverse, representing the background and preparation of faculty and staff who engage in faculty practice. We have programs that offer services to the following groups:
- children, adolescents, or persons with developmental disabilities
- Airport Clinic
- Boling Center for Development Disabilities
- Christian Health Center
- The Center for Health Evaluation and Lifestyle Promotion
- University Health Services
The faculty's practice efforts were recognized by the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) when NONPF awarded UT College of Nursing their first annual Faculty Practice Award.
In addition to their faculty practices, several faculty serve as consultants to other faculties who are seeking to initiate a faculty practice component or to enrich current faculty practice efforts.
