All positions are full time, 12 month appointments. Rank and salary will be commensurate with academic and experiential background.


Assistant Dean of Faculty Practice and Assistant Professor
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center, College of Nursing invites applications from experienced clinical nurse scientists for an Assistant Dean of Faculty Practice position. Applicants should have a demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action. This position is responsible for oversight of college operated clinics, college group practices and individual faculty practices. Specific duties involve assisting faculty in establishing practice sites, establishment of College based practices, maintaining contractual agreements with practice partners, administering the faculty practice plan, assuring that faculty practices operate within all governmental regulatory guidelines, directing the implementation of continuous quality improvement programs and facilitating placement of students in college practice sites. This individual will have direct or indirect supervisory responsibility for staff that supports the college’s practice mission and non-tenure track faculty with clinical appointments. In addition, the successful candidate will be eligible for a faculty appointment and qualified to assume teaching and supervisory responsibilities of graduate students. Rank and salary commensurate with academic and experiential background. Position requirements include eligibility for a faculty appointment, successful experience in the oversight of diverse clinical practice sites that include advance practice nurses, demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary environments, and a working knowledge and ability to navigate the financial and administrative waters surrounding advanced practice nursing. Our College of Nursing also had one of the earliest organized faculty practices and offers an incentive plan for faculty who practice as well as those who engage in externally funded research.

Adult Health Faculty
Successful candidates for tenure-track positions will have an earned doctorate in nursing, MSN with clinical specialty, teaching experience, a scholarly program of research or practice, and RN licensure. Tenure-track faculty will have opportunities to teach across programs. Minimum requirements for non-tenure track, clinical position include a MSN with clinical specialty in Adult Health and RN license. Experience teaching in BSN program and web-based instruction desired.

Community Nurse Scientist
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) and the College of Nursing are seeking applicants for one to two tenure-track, 12 month faculty appointments available for individuals with training and experience in community based research. This is an opportunity to provide leadership on the ground-level in building a community research program in collaboration with the CTSI in the Memphis community. Significant committed internal funding allows this to be a full-time research position with protected time to focus on building community partnerships and developing interdisciplinary programs of research.

The successful candidate will be a registered nurse with an earned doctoral degree, an established program of research, and eligible for a primary appointment in the College of Nursing. Preference will be given to senior level scientists with a track record of externally funded research; however, consideration will also be given to promising junior-level faculty.

Primary responsibilities will be establishment and implementation of a program of interdisciplinary community-based research conducted through the CTSI and mentorship of doctoral students from multiple disciplines. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled.
