Public Health Nursing

Mary Knudtson Mary Knudtson RN, DNSc, NP

Professor
Director of the Family Nurse Practitioner Program

Dissertation

The Relationship between Reported Malpractice Cases for Nurse Practitioners and the Type of Supervision Mandated by State Law (2004)

My Current Activities

I currently teach and have administrative responsibilities for the nurse practitioner program 50% of my time.  I have a clinical practice in the faculty practice as a family nurse practitioner the other 50% of the time.

Short-term Plans for the Future

We are opening a BSN program at our institution within the next year.  The plan is to open a graduate nursing program with both Masters and Doctoral programs in the next few years after the BSN program is in place.

Long term plans for the future

I would like to become the Director of Graduate Education or an Associate Dean for Graduate Education if I stay in an academic setting.  I am also considering moving into public health as a Director of a Public Health Department.
