Since 2002, Dr. Dwayne L Accardo, CRNA, DNP has been the UTHSC clinical coordinator for the Medical Anesthesia Group and was nurse anesthesia faculty prior to appointment as the Associate Program Director. His teaching expertise is pharmacology, obstetrical and cardiac anesthesia. Dr. Accardo also teaches in the clinical area. He is an active member of the AANA, ANA, TANA, and TNA. He currently serves on the Educational Committee for the Tennessee Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
Dr. Accardo’s expertise is obstetrical anesthesia where he worked for seven years in the Memphis area. He has served as a reviewer for current obstetrical nursing textbooks.
Dr. Accardo received his BSN from The University of Mississippi. He received his MS in Nurse Anesthesia from Webster University in St. Louis and his DNP from The University of Tennessee with a focus in Advanced Obstetrical Anesthesia.
