The Public Health Nursing Option, in conjunction with the Mid-South Chapter of ANAC, TN AIDS education Training Center and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, will be hosting its 4th Annual Public Health Nursing Conference. This year’s conference: the Laura Lancaster Memorial Seminar: Public Health Risks and Solutions in the Face of HIV will be held at the Student Alumni Center, 790 Madison Avenue, Memphis, TN.. This education activity is designed to provide useful, up-to-date information for all health care providers and workers concerned with the public and the risks of HIV/AIDS. The target audience is Nursing students, Physicians, Advanced Practice Nurses, Nurses, Pharmacist, Social Workers, Public Health Workers, Community Counselors, Case Managers, Psychologists, School Administrators, and concerned citizens. 8:30-4:40p: The DNP Forensic Nursing Option will host its 6th Annual Forensic Nursing Conference “Child Abuse: The Evidence Base for Evaluation, Treatment and Prevention” Monday, December 7, 2009 at the UTHSC Student Alumni Center. The conference is open to all (students, faculty, health care professionals and community leaders). Speakers from various backgrounds will share valuable information and professional perspectives on evaluation, treatment, prevention best practices. Attendees will take from this conference, resources which will enable them to effectively increase awareness in their communities.
