Partnerships
The UT College of Nursing collaborates with various institutions as part of our efforts to help students easily articulate into our masters and doctoral programs. Additionally, these articulations serve to enrich the educational experiences and scholarly partnerships of students and faculty in our institution.
Southwest Tennessee Community College (STCC)
UT College of Nursing recently entered into discussions about collaborative educational efforts with the Department of Nursing at the Southwest Tennessee Community College (STCC). These efforts are designed to enhance educational experiences of the nursing students at STCC and assist STCC graduates in entering UT College of Nursing programs.
University of Manitoba Faculty of Nursing
UT College of Nursing has a formal collaborative agreement with the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. The points of mutual interest in this agreement include developing mutually beneficial programs and courses, exchange of faculty for purposes of teaching and research, and exchange of students. During the summer of 2000, Dr. Brenda Mills went to Winnipeg as a consultant to the University of Manitoba faculty for their Nurse Practitioner program. Dr. Cindy Russell has had several trips to Winnipeg for research, while Dr. David Gregory, Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Nursing has made several visits to the UT College of Nursing for research and academic purposes. Dr. Gregory was also the keynote speaker for the 10th Annual William T. Cashdollar Lectureship. Two graduate nursing students from the University of Manitoba recently completed an online graduate-level qualitative research course that originated from UT College of Nursing, and that included faculty from Memphis and Winnipeg, as well as faculty from the Medical College of Georgia and University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada.
