Project Overview

Higher Speed

All of the older switches in the network infrastructure will be replaced with "more horsepower". These new Cisco switches will give us 5 times the speed of our existing network. The upgrades go from our core network switches to the distribution switches in the wiring closet in your building.

Greater Security

Security improvements include installation of redundant network core devices to provide failover connectivity. New firewall modules will employ rules to enhance our compliance requirements. Also, all of the internal network devices will be renumbered from a private address pool, making them invisible from the Internet and thus much less suseptible to attack and compromise. This means that every device on our internal network will have a new address: every server, every printer, every desktop and every laptop.
