UT Memphis Medicine/Pediatrics Curriculum

Right Float Photo Our combined four year training program leads to board eligibility in both Medicine and Pediatrics. We are excited about the new ACGME recognition of Med-peds as a residency option all its own, and we feel our program easily facilitates this philosophy. The curriculum at UT is ideal for acquiring the skills necessary to provide total family-oriented, lifelong care. The majority of our residents enter practices that include both adult and pediatric medicine.

Additional delivery room and NICU experience (~200 hours) is gained during 2-3 overnight calls/month on pediatric electives.

Due to our nightfloat systems at Methodist and The Med, there is no overnight call on Medicine wards at these locations.

Board preparation is gained through weekly Medstudy conferences and Pedstudy conferences. Visit www.medstudy.com for more information about this program.

All Med-peds residents are granted individual access to Up To Date.

Continuity clinics alternate between IM and Peds weekly during PGY1-PGY4 years. During the PGY4 year, residents have the option of working in any of a number of combined Med-peds clinics throughout the city.

See UT Pediatrics or UT Internal Medicine webpages for more details and descriptions of specific rotations.
