Cisco VPN Client for Windows 2000  and XP

These instructions are ONLY for Windows 2000 or XP.  Before installation, make sure that your PC is up to date. Service Pack 1 is required for Windows XP and Service Pack 2 or greater is required for Windows 2000 installations. If you are using Windows 95, 98, and ME, then you need to go here.

1. Download the appropriate VPN Client and extract it to a folder using WinZip:

2. Click on Start and select Run. Browse to the folder with the extracted files and select the filename vpnclient_setup.exe. Click Open to run the setup program.

3. The VPN Client is ready to install. Close all open applications and click next to continue.

4. Click I accept the license agreement and then click Next.

5. Click next to install the client in the default directory:

6. Click Next to begin the installation:

7. Setup is installing the VPN client:

8. Select Yes and click finish to restart your system so the installation changes can take effect:

9. To connect using the VPN Client, Click on Start – Programs – Cisco Systems VPN Client – VPN Client

10. Double-click on the utmem connection entry to connect to the UTMEM VPN server. Does your screen not have the utmem connection?? Click here to find out how to add it.

11. Enter your Net ID and password in the dialog box to authenticate:
