Introduction
The University of Tennessee Process (part 1)
The University of Memphis Process
The University of Tennessee Process (part 2)

Introduction

These instructions will help you register easily, without walking from office to office on this campus or on the University of Memphis campus.

If you encounter problems, please contact the person responsible for that aspect of the process (names and numbers have been provided for this purpose) or Dr. David Armbruster, 448-5051 or email.

Because this process will take a couple of days to complete, you may want to print this page or a pdf version.

Registration deadline: Check with the Registrar's Office regarding the deadline. If you miss the deadline, you will pay a $100 late fee.

If you have questions, contact the registrar (448-5560).

Download (pdf) "Request for Enrollment under the Joint Reciprocal Agreement" and fill it out. To obtain the dean's signature, either take the completed form to the Graduate College office (420 Hyman) or fax it to 448-1488. Be sure to include a return fax number.

Next, fax the signed form to the UT registrar (448-7772). Keep your original, because youíll need to fax a copy of this form to the University of Memphis later.

If you have questions, call Ms. Jan Brownlee, (Graduate School) 678-4370.

First, go to On-Line Forms and click on Admissions Application, complete it, and print a copy. Be sure to check “Non-Degree Student.” You will need to create an account for yourself; remember your user name and password.

The University of Memphis charges a one-time $35 application fee for nondegree students.

Next, return to On-Line Forms and click on Graduate Non-Degree Agreement web form (4 pages), complete it, and print a copy.

When you have completed the Admissions Application, Graduate Non-Degree Agreement, and the UT “Request for Enrollment under the Joint Reciprocal Agreement,” fax all of them to 678-5023 (this is the fax number for the Graduate Admissions Office; it is located apart from Ms. Brownlee’s office).

Because a signature is required from the U of M, wait 2-3 days so your application can be
entered into the U of M computer system.

If you have specific questions about the course or the English Department, call Ms. Susan Fitzgerald, department registrar, at 678-5438.
