As the Network Coordinator, I’m responsible for maintaining and dispersing the IBM and MacIntosh laptops to the medical students so that they might complete a Microsoft Powerpoint assignment as part of their grade in Family Medicine. I’m responsible for all the software relating to the laptops and for setting up databases for faculty within the Family Medicine Department, i.e., Procedural Databases, OB/Ultrasound Databases, etc. I’m also responsible for all scheduling with regard to the medical student’s Family Medicine Clerkship, Family Practice Clinic schedule for Medical Students and Emergency Department Schedule for Med students. Daily tasks including those listed below are grading and maintaining all post and pre tests given to medical students in their third year of medical school. I’m responsible as well for different evaluations pertaining to the clerkship and maintaining these in a database for further evaluation. Other responsibilities include maintaining and redesigning the departmental website. Programs which I have experience in are Microsoft Frontpage, WTP Pro; Picture It; Microsoft Office 2000; as well as programs listed below in other positions held at UT.
Coordinator - Exempt Staff
This position requires the same job responsibilities as the position mentioned below but with added job responsibilities specified in our Predoctoral Family Medicine Grant along with some supervisory duties: Coordinator of the M3 Clerkship Orientation phase. Work closely with the Network Director with regards to coordination of the distributing the IBM laptops to medical students and keeping records regarding this aspect of the Family Medicine Clerkship rotation every 8 weeks. IBM experience with Windows 98, Microsoft FrontPage, Publisher, Image Composer, and Microsoft Office 97’. Coordinator of the Obstetrical and Gynecology Workshop for the past eight years, and work closely with the Director of the program as well as the Continuing Medical Education Department.
Sr. Administrative Assistant, Grade 8
This position required the same job responsibilities as the position mentioned below but with added job responsibilities and some supervisory duties: Work closely with the Dean’s Office, and various other campus-wide departments, with regard to transcription into a student database the Dean’s Letters for those fourth year medical students assigned to the Assistant Dean, Office of Student Affairs for interview. Administrator of the National Board of Medical Examiner’s Family Medicine Exam, and the Departmental ECG Exam given at the end of each clerkship rotation. Responsible for grading one of the departmental exams. Coordinating and conducting the student’s collection of written assignments at the end of each clerkship. Responsible for maintaining all student evaluations and grades from their Family Medicine Clerkship. Database Administrator for six databases that are used within the Predoctoral Division (ie, Family Medicine Grading System Database, Student Database, Preceptor Database, Student Transfer File Database, Roster Database, Faculty Evaluation Database). Experience in teaching and training computer-database learning to students, residents and faculty. Contact person for medical student’s fielding questions regarding their Family Medicine Clerkship rotation, grades, etc. Macintosh experience includes: Advance knowledge of the computer programs listed below and data basing.
Teaching Materials Assistant/Program Resource Specialist, Grade 7
This position provides technical assistance and educational support to the Assistant Dean, Office of Student Affairs, the Predoctoral/Clerkship Director, and the Director of Research within the Department of Family Medicine. It also provides technical assistance to various other faculty and staff. Job responsibilities include assisting the Predoctoral Director with the coordination, planning, preparation, and operation of an 8 week required student clerkship course, for medical students in their third and fourth years of medical school. Position requires organization and technical skills. Computer data input to various databases for research studies. Macintosh experience includes; WordPerfect; Calendar Maker, Microsoft Works, Filemaker Pro, Excel, SuperPaint, and Statview. IBM Experience includes; Power point, WordPerfect, Filemaker Pro, Microsoft Word.
Principal Secretary, Grade 6
This position provided secretarial support to the educational and research staff within the department. Job duties including typing, dictation, handling phones, computer work, coordination of mass mail-outs to medical students, and various other secretarial duties.
Media General Broadcast Services, Inc., Memphis, TN
1978-1989Radio Media Coordinator
Compiled and coordinated all schedule data from account executives for distribution to Media Buyers. Served as liaison between sales executives in all branch offices and buying group; fielded questions ranging from client specifications, cost information, changes and/or schedule revisions, including profit and loss for each project. Supervised Computer Input Group to ensure that extremely tight deadlines were met. Extensive computer and word processing experience.
Executive Secretary/Administrative Assistant
Daily tasks included word processing, filing, switchboard, CRT entry of schedule data for all Media Buyers. Maintained department files; coordination of computerized daily work report; daily contact with clients nationally for updated information; coordinated mass mail-outs to over 10,000 stations annually.
Credit Assistant/Customer Service
Responsibilities included posting daily cash receipts to trial balances, coordinated form letter mail-outs to all delinquent accounts. Maintained files on clients bought/sold through Federal Communications Commission.

Job duties included, typing, filing, approving and routing company contracts. Maintained daily follow-up system for credit analysis and collectors.
