Dental professionals are our best defense in the fight against oral
cancer.
This
course will present information relevant to the etiology, diagnosis, and
management of leukoplakia, erythroplakia, and squamous cell carcinoma.
Recent topics of interest such as the role of smokeless tobacco and human
papilloma virus in oral cancer will be discussed. Emphasis will be placed
on diagnostic clues and pitfalls. Leukoplakia and erythroplakia will be
compared and contrasted with oral red and white lesions that represent
