Prosthodontic
Tips and Tricks
Kenneth

Objectives:
To learn to think outside of the box when doing prosthodontics.
After the course, the dentist and staff will learn to use common dental
products in a slightly different manner. Different
prosthodontic techniques will also be discussed.
Topics
covered will include:
1)
Utilization of vinyl poly siloxane materials not just for
impressions anymore.
2)
Crown preparation techniques, back to basics, Lava, Procera,
Cercon.
3)
Cast post and cores vs. prefabricated metal posts vs. fiber posts
4)
Removable prosthodontic techniques
Dr. King graduated from Loma Linda University, School of Dentistry in 1981.
He completed a one year GPR Program at Loma Linda University and Jerry
Pettis VA Hospital, receiving a certificate in 1982.
After his residency, he associated for one year in Fairfield, California.
From 1983 to 2002, Dr. King maintained a private practice in Carmel,
California. During this time he was
an active member in the Carmel Rotary Club and volunteered at the Big Sur Health
Center. In 2002, he joined the
faculty of the University of Tennessee, College of Dentistry as an Assistant
Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry, Prosthodontic Division.
After 5 years at the University of Tennessee, Dr. King accepted the
position of GPR Program Director at the University of Nebraska Medical Center,
College of Dentistry, Department of Hospital Dentistry.
He is currently an Associate Professor at the University of Tennessee,
College of Dentistry in the Department of Restorative, Prosthodontic Division.

Dr.
Jacob Shiloah is a Professor in the Department of Periodontology at the
University of Tennessee College of Dentistry.
Dr. Shiloah received his dental degree from the Hebrew University in
Jerusalem and his certificate in periodontics from the University of Kentucky in
Lexington. He is a Diplomate of the
American Board of Periodontology.

Practical
Oral Pathology for the Dental Practitioner – Two Half
Days
K. Mark Anderson DDS, MS
The
course is designed to provide the dental practitioner with a basic review of the
more common pathologic entities manifested in and around the oral cavity.
Topics will include the indications and accepted procedures for biopsy,
immunologically mediated conditions, premalignant and malignant lesions, as well
as bone and soft tissue pathology. Differential
diagnoses of various clinical entities will also be discussed.
In addition to an overview of basic conditions, current information on
patient management will be presented to keep clinicians abreast of recent
developments in the understanding and treatment of oral disease.
Dr.
Anderson is a 1989 graduate of the University of Tennessee, College of
Dentistry. After eleven years in
private dental practice, he began his residency in oral and maxillofacial
pathology at The Ohio State University. Upon
completion in 2003, he returned to the University of Tennessee, where he is
currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biologic and Diagnostic
Sciences.
