Residents


The department matriculates one post doctoral veterinarian per year in its three year specialty program in laboratory animal
medicine. The three post doctoral veterinarians all with veterinary degrees share clinical responsibilities with DCM faculty.

Amy Funk, D.V.M. Postdoctoral research associate- responsible, with faculty overview, of shared clinical care. Relevant
training and experience: 1995 graduate of Colorado State University. Before she joined the DCM, she worked in clinical
small animal medicine for over six years. She is heavily involved with several community outreach programs. Not to
mention, she spear headed Collierville's first spay/neuter program at the local shelter.

Stephanie Butler, D.V.M. Postdoctoral research associate- responsible, with faculty overview, of shared clinical care.
Relevant training and experience: Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2000. Upon
graduating she became a member of the DCM as a Post -Doctoral Research Trainee. Before she graduated she spent time at
M.D. Anderson Cancer Center Laboratory Animal Facility. Her interests include primates, surgery, and all aspects of
oncology.
