Timothy Mandrell, D.V.M. -
Acting Chairman, Associate Professor (DCM) and Veterinary Medical Officer
(VAMC). Dr. Mandrell's responsibility is for shared veterinary care of
all UT Memphis animals with primary responsibility for the North Campus
facility. He is Course director of COMED 711. Relevant training and previous
experience: D.V.M., UT Knoxville, 1984; Postdoctoral fellowship in Lab
Animal Medicine, DCM, Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD 1987-1989.
Postdoctoral experience in lab animal medicine of 8 years with additional
experience as Veterinary Medical Officer, USDA, 1985-1989 and Senior Staff
Veterinarian for Laboratory Animals and Research facilities, USDA. Joined
UT Memphis as Staff Veterinarian in June, 1991. ACLAM Diplomate since July
1991.
Mildred M. Randolph , D.V.M.
- Associate Professor (DCM). Dr. Randolph's responsibility is
for clinical oversight of the South Campus vivarium. Additionally, she
will team teach Essentials of Animal Experimentation (CMED 711). Relevant
training and previous experience: D.V.M., Tuskegee University, 1983; Small
Animal Surgery Instructor, Mississippi State University, 1985-86. Post-Doctoral
Fellow, Laboratory Animal Medicine, University of Oklahoma, College of
Medicine, Okc, Okl, 1989-90. Assistant Clinical Professor, Division of
Animal Resources, Department of Pathology, 1990-1996. ACLAM Diplomate since
2001.
Patricia Farrar, D.V.M. - Associate
Professor (DCM). Dr. Farrar's responsibility is for clinical oversight
of the South Campus vivarium. Relevant training and previous experience:

Jerold Rehg, D.V.M., Professor
(Affiliated), DCM, ACLAM and ACVP Diplomate. He is actively involved in
the pathology aspects of the program and will provide clinical and pathology
training at St. Jude. He is responsible for pathology training, including
weekly pathology conferences at DCM. Dr. Rehg reviews pathology cases from
both institutions with the trainees. He will also participate in research
training if a fellow elects to conduct research in the St. Jude Comparative
Medicine Laboratory. Dr. Rehg has 31 years experience in LASM, comparative
pathology and biomedical research, and is currently a member of the Pathology
Department at St. Jude. He collaborates on NIH funded research projects
in the departments of Immunology, Virology and Molecular Biology, Pathology,
Pharmacology, and Infectious Diseases.
Naomi M. Gades, D.V.M.,
M.S. - Assistant Professor (Adjunct) - Relevant training and experience:
Postdoctoral fellowship in Lab Animal Medicine, DCM, The University of
Tennessee, Memphis, 1997-2000. M.S. in Epidemiology, The University of
Tennessee, Memphis, 1999. D.V.M., University of Minnesota, St. Paul, 1997.
B.S. in Animal Science, South Dakota State University, Brookings, 1993.
Licensed and accredited in Minnesota and Tennessee. Dr. Gades is the clinical
veterinarian in the Animal Resource Center at St. Jude.
Elizabeth Wilson, D.V.M. - Assistant Professor (Adjunct), ACVP diplomate
in clinical pathology, and Veterinary Clinical Pathologist at Antech Diagnostics,
Memphis, TN. Dr. Wilson is actively involved in the clinical pathology
needs of the Department of Comparative Medicine and in weekly pathology
seminars.
Joe Barrett, D.V.M.-Instructor
(Adjunct) Univ. of Memphis veterinarian and Mississippi practitioner. Dr.
Barrett teaches all portions of DCM CMED 713 graduate courses on dogs,
cats, and ruminants and supplies exact knowledge in new modalities from
the practice perspective.
Anne Savage, Ph. D.- Dr. Savage comes to us from the Disney's Animal Kingdom
where she oversaw the wildlife research in the Wildlife Tracking Center.
Dr. Savage's interests in primate behavior, reproductive biology and
contraceptive development is a research interest that offers many potential
collaborations with our faculty and postdoctoral research trainees.
