Meet The Chief Information Officer
W. Taylor Strickland
Taylor Strickland is the Chief Information Officer for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and is responsible for all Information
Technology Services.
Taylor began his career with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center nine years ago as Manager of Telephone and Data Services
with the responsibility of bringing those entities to current industry standards. He served as Director of Infrastructure and Interim
Chief Information Officer before being appointed Chief Information Officer for the Health Science Center in 2006.
Taylor has an extensive background in telephone and data communications that includes a lengthy career with South Central Bell/AT&T
that encompassed technical, marketing and management duties. Prior to his employment at the Health Science Center, he owned and
operated Strickland Communications Consultants, a local communications consulting company.
Mr. Strickland attended Memphis State University (now University of Memphis) and obtained additional education from The
Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Tennessee, University of Alabama, Christian Brothers University and the
AT&T Technical Educational Center.
