It is my pleasure to welcome you to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC).

As of spring 2007, it was 50 years ago that I came to this campus to study at the medical school. Over the past five decades, I have developed an acute and abiding sense of history for this place and for what it has meant to me and to the thousands of others who have studied here in our colleges.
