Bonheur
As the Mid-South's only children's hospital, Le Bonheur Children's Medical
Center provides medical care to over 100,000 children. Founded in 1952,
Le Bonheur serves children from 95 counties in six states. Le Bonheur
Children's Hospital is located in downtown Memphis, TN at 50 Dunlap Ave.
The Children's Foundation Research Center laboratories and offices are
located on the third and fourth floors of Le Bonheur.
As the CFRC has become established, the hospital has continued to be very
supportive of the Research Center. The Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center
Small Grants Program funds a total of $100,000 per year in grant support
for staff of LBCMC. This program has been operative for the past 18 years
providing nearly $2 million in support. Fellows and junior faculty members
are eligible to apply for support. Individuals may apply for up to $15,000
per year for two consecutive years, but may receive support for not more
than 3 out of every 5 years. The Review Committee gives special preference
to projects submitted by junior faculty.
