Children’s Foundation Research Center of Memphis Mission Statement

The purpose of the Children’s Foundation is to promote the health and well-being of children in the Memphis area. Since our grant making started in 1982 the primary focus has been for projects that improve the physical health of children. We have supported both direct services and research. Since 1993, the foundation has provided significant support for the Children’s Foundation Research Center at LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center.

• To provide the infrastructure, resources, and environment for the development of a major pediatric research center. This center will help to develop the careers of young physician scientists and to facilitate scientific advances in pediatric medicine leading to a major impact on the health of children now and in future generations.

• To enhance the quality of the faculty recruited by the University of Tennessee who will carry out research.

• To enhance the reputation of the Children's Foundation of Memphis both at the local and national level through its focused support of a major research center devoted exclusively to the betterment of the health of children.

• To enhance the reputation of Le Bonheur Children's Medical Center through its support of a state-of-the-art pediatric research facility to complement its outstanding delivery of medical care.
