Q.   What are the goals of this certificate program?

A.    The four goals of the program are:

  • to enhance the student's knowledge of health system organization and function;

  • to enhance the student's understanding of health-related pubic policy and oversight at the state level;

  • to enhance the student's understanding of the management of complex US health care systems;

  • to develop the student's leadership skills.

Q.    Is there a cost?

A.      There are no tuition or fees for this program.  There may be costs related to required texts and materials and some costs for living expenses during the Nashville rotation.

Q.    How much time will it require?

A.      The rotations in state government and in a health system are full-time rotations.  The lecture/seminar/journal club series will require approximately 3 hours per month, including preparation and in-class time.
