What is the Black Student Association?

The Black Student Association is an interdisciplinary organization founded in 1992 by African American students at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.

Who can join the Black Student Association?

The Black Student Association is open to all students at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center regardless of ethnic background, discipline, or other affiliations. It is an interdisciplinary organization founded by black students at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center, hence the name "Black Student Association."

When are the meetings for the Black Student Association?

The meetings are held on the 3rd Thursday of every month at 12:00pm in A302 of the GEB, unless otherwise posted here on the website.

What community service opportunities are available through the Black Student Association?

The Black Student Association offers a number of opportunities to participate in community service. Our most recent collaboration is tutoring with Pyramid Academy and Grizzly High School. Throughout the year, we coordinate many health fairs and mentoring events within the community.

What is the BSA Ball and when is it held?

The Black Student Association Ball is held in the month of April each year. It is a celebration of Black Student Association members' accomplishments throughout the school year. Click here for pictures of last year's BSA Ball.

Tickets for the BSA Ball can be bought during the months of March and April in the GEB lobby from noon-1:00pm.
