Interdisciplinary Leadership Training Series, Fall 2009-Spring 2010
This
leadership training series presents state-of-the-art programs on interdisciplinary
practice. TopicsTopics address quality of life issues across the
life span for persons with neurodevelopmental and related disabilities, children
with special health care needs, and their families. FocusSessions
focus on current and future directions in family-centered prevention and intervention
approaches for diverse populations and address collaboration at local, state,
and national levels. Who should attend
Healthcare, mental health
and social service personnel, nurses, teachers, therapists, direct care staff,
family members, speech-language pathologists individuals with disabilitiesall persons who share an interest
in high-risk populations and developmental disabilitiesshould attend.
Registration
Fee
Advance registration is $20 per session for professionals and families.
Students may attend free of charge. Participants can register for the entire series for $80.
Place
All sessions will take place at the Boling
Center, located at 711 Jefferson Avenue in Memphis. Web-conferencing is available for the series. A 10-day advanced notice is necessary for all web attendees to verify compatibility of equipment.
TimeAll sessions will begin at 8:30 am and conclude
at 12:30 pm Central Time.

Continuing
Education Credits
Continuing education credits will be available for some or all sessions in nursing, psychology, occupational therapy and American Dietetic Association. Details are available for each session above. All attendees will recieve a Certificate of Attendance at the conclusion of the workshop.
The University of Tennessee Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The University of Tennessee Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities maintains responsibility for this program and its content. This offering is 4.0 continuing education credits for psychologists. The University of Tennessee adheres to the APA Ethical Principles of Psychologists. Additional fee of $15.00 for psychology CE credits. Not available for 12-3-09 series offering.
The University of Tennessee Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities is an AOTA Approved Provider of continuing education. AOTA does not endorse specific course content, products, or clinical procedures. 0.4 AOTA CEUs will be awarded for this activity.

The University of Tennessee Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities is a Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Accredited Provider with the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). Registered dietitians (RDs) and dietetic technicians, registered (DTRs) will receive 4.0 continuing professional education units (CPEUs) for completion of this program/material.

Preference will be given to sites with at least 5 participants.
