About Center on Disability and Employment
Center on Disability and Employment of the University of Tennessee (UT) is part of the Boling Center for Developmental Disabilities. The central office of the Center is located on the Knoxville campus of UT with staff positioned in field offices across the state.
The Center's purpose is to promote community inclusion of people with disabilities in work, living, education, and everyday life by fostering continuous learning and improvement among the workforce and community members.
Since 1987, this disability-focused organization has provided best practice outreach services to state government, non-profit agencies, private business, and people with disabilities through
- customized technical assistance
- education and training
- policy
and systems change
- community network development
- action research
- model
development
- multimedia resource development and dissemination.
University students are actively engaged in sponsored research and activities through coursework, practicum, and internships.
Center on Disability and Employment is a human resource and organizational development unit of the College of Education, Health, and Human Sciences at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Center on Disability and Employment partners with federal and state agencies to improve universal access to employment for job seekers with disabilities.
