Server
Information:
We are
running two (2) Compaq Proliant servers (2.8/400MHZ) with XEON
processors. Each server has 2 18.2GB drives and 3 36 GB
drives. The server runs a full tape backup daily with
incremental backups during the day. The servers are on a 100
GB network connection.
Management:
UTHSC has
open creation of courses, so that faculty and staff can create
course sites as needed without administrative intervention.
Open creation of user accounts is also supported, although new
student accounts are created by the Blackboard administrator.
Users are encouraged to use their NetID
when creating accounts.
Course
management is the responsibility of the course instructor.
Unlike other institutions, UTHSC does not wipe out course
sites at the end of each academic year.
