Letter from the Chancellor
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is engaged in a project with The University of Tennessee Chattanooga and the University of Tennessee at Knoxville to implement new student information systems. We have asked Collegiate Project Services to help us plan and manage the implementation project. We have selected SunGard as our software vendor.
These important new systems will permit us to offer improved service and reliability to our students, faculty and staff. We will be able to employ new and improved technology, as well as review and improve policies and procedures. This project has the full support of the University of Tennessee president and chancellors. I invite you to participate with us in this important project.
It is vital for us to provide the highest level of technical services and support to enable our students and faculty to be successful. Our current systems have served us well, but the technology is dated. With the help of leading experts at Collegiate Project Services and SunGard, and the full involvement of the university community, it is time for us to take the service we provide to a higher level. This is important to our students as well as our faculty and staff who teach and serve our students.
This website was created to describe our plans as we prepare for this implementation project. It will outline specific project details including a timeline for execution. I hope you will read this material and pass this link along to others.
There is no doubt that this project will require the effort, ingenuity and commitment of a large number of stakeholder groups throughout the university.
Thank you for your commitment to this important endeavor.
Hershel P. Wall, MD, Chancellor
