Application Requirements and Instructions

All applications to the College of Graduate Health Sciences are now made to the Integrated Program in Biomedical Sciences (IPBS).  We recommend electronic application. There is currently NO FEE for electronic applications to programs within the College of Graduate Health Sciences.

When applying for our program electronically make sure to check the box for Integrated Program in Biomedical Sciences as well as the box for Neuroscience Track under the College of Graduate Health Sciences section.  Though checking the box for the Neuroscience Track is optional, by checking it you will ensure that your application is reviewed by representatives of the Neuroscience Program.  Make sure to carefully read the application directions and submit original materials to the Office of Enrollment Services, 910 Madison Avenue, Suite 525, Memphis, TN 38163.

These materials should include:

  1. Official transcripts (from all colleges and universities attended).
  2. Official GRE scores (specific subject exams are not required).
  3. Three letters of recommendation (must be on institutional letterhead and have original signatures).
  4. International applicants must submit current TOEFL scores.

International Student Transcript Policy

Students that supply foreign transcripts for the purpose of entry into the University of Tennessee Health Science Center are required to submit their transcripts to a professional credential evaluation service that includes the calculated grade point average (GPA). A report from the evaluation company must be sent directly to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center from the evaluation company for consideration during the admissions review. See the IPBS application instructions and the graduate catalog for more information.

Deadline for Receipt of Application

The official deadline for receipt of all application materials is March 1. However, most applications are submitted by December and we will begin to review applications in January. Therefore candidates are urged to submit an electronic application by January 1 of the year in which admission is requested. If necessary, supporting materials such as official GRE score reports and official transcripts can follow at a later date.

Deadline for Admission

Deadline for acceptance of admission for foreign applicants is May 15. We cannot accept foreign applicants after this time due to processing requirements. Generally, no admissions will be made later than June 15th.
