There are just over 32,000 alumni of the University of Tennessee
Health Science Center. Many of these graduates play an active role
in supporting their individual colleges, programs at the Health
Science Center, and the University of Tennessee National Alumni
Association.
The University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC) Office
of Alumni Affairs organizes approximately 50 annual programs, reunions
and special events, involving alumni from across the U.S. Alumni
Board and Council members, meeting twice a year, serve in advisory
roles to Deans, on admissions and curriculum committees, and as
advocates of their colleges.
Private giving to the UTHSC in the year 2003-2004 exceeded $67
million. The UT Health Science Center's total endowment is approximately
$90 million and includes 49 endowed professorships, of which 19
are Chairs of Excellence funded by the State of Tennessee and through
generous private gifts.
