Office of Alumni Affairs Staff
Chandra Tuggle is a Director of Alumni Programs for the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. She will be working with the Chancellor and Deans of the six colleges to engage alumni in the life of the University to advance the academic, service and research enterprises of the Health Science Center.
Chandra’s primary responsibilities include: alumni e-communication efforts, class reunion planning for the Colleges of Dentistry and Medicine, class gift solicitation, recruitment of volunteers, assisting in writing and editing of alumni publications, assisting with other collegiate alumni initiatives, working with UTAA (system office), and serving on campus committees.
A native Memphian, Chandra graduated from White Station High School and then went on to major in English at the University of Memphis (then Memphis State University).After college, Chandra returned to the University to further her studies. She earned a master's degree in journalism, with a concentration in public relations, as part of the first graduating class of the newly named University of Memphis.
Chandra’s career took her first to Memphis in May where she was a sponsorship development coordinator. She then went to the Memphis/Shelby County Public Library and Information Center. Working as a development specialist during the Library's capital campaign gave her additional experience with public relations and fund-raising. Prior to her joining us at UTHSC, Chandra was the Director of Marketing & Public Relations for Associated Catholic Charities for eight years.
Amanda Lane

Amanda Lane joined the University of Tennessee Health Science Center as Alumni Affairs Director in February 2009. Her primary responsibilities include working closely with the College of Pharmacy and College of Nursing in planning their annual board meetings, alumni weekends, and class reunions. She also manages website updates for the Alumni Affairs Office.
Amanda graduated with highest honors from The University of Southern Mississippi in 2002 with a B.A. in Public Relations. She has a strong background in public relations, event planning and working with Chambers of Commerce. Her last position was Event Manager with the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce in Castle Rock, Colorado. Prior to that, she worked six years in event management as the Senior Events Manager at the DeSoto Civic Center in Southaven, Mississippi and as Director of PR and Events for Bonne Terre Country Inn and Café in Nesbit, Mississippi.
She and her husband, Jim, reside in Hernando, MS.
Karin Eggert joined the Alumni Affairs office as Director in October of 2007. She graduated from the University of Memphis in May of 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.
Prior to joining the alumni office, she was employed by the Peabody Hotel Group for more than 10 years where she was a sales manager at The Ridgeway Inn and the Peabody Hotel. Karin works closely with the Alumni Board of Directors for the College of Nursing and College of Pharmacy. She also assists in the planning and staffing for Alumni Weekend programs and other events for each of the colleges at the UTHSC campus.
She is married and she and her husband have three children, two sons and a daughter.
