It is a requirement of the College that you be
CPR certified during your first year in medical school. If you are currently
certified, proof of the certification needs to be given to the Office of
Medical Education (910 Madison Ave., Suite 1002) by the end of March of your first
year.
For those not certified, classes will be presented throughout the academic
year by upper-class students through the Medical Student Executive Council (MSEC).
The classes are paid for by the College; however, you have to purchase the
textbook. MSEC will furnish a list of those students who completed their course
to the Office of Medical Education. All first year medical students MUST
be CPR certified by the end of March of their first year.
Classes (TBA) will be available again in your senior
year. This will provide you with the opportunity to update your BCLS
certification, thus enabling you to take ACLS in your residency.
