- learn about technology as applied to clinical pediatrics by observing and participating in its use in the hospital setting,
- learn basic diagnostic skills, such as blood pressure determination, auscultation, recording of electrocardiogram, etc..,
- rotate through technology-intensive areas, including intensive care units, emergency departments, imaging areas and diagnostic laboratories such as cardiac catheterization and pulmonary function, and
- learn the fundamentals of case presentation, participate in regular clinical conferences, and present their cases in the Program's special BME conference.
These experiences and other coursework uniquely integrate engineering and physiopathological principles.
