Welcome to Audience of One
“Be courteous to all, but intimate with few, and let those few be well
tried.”
George Washington
Audience of One is a student-run support service for medical students that started in 2001. It was created by students, for students. It was designed and conceptualized by Sandra Kaplan, a UT College of Medicine student, class of 2004. The service is confidential.
AOO would not be where it is today if not for the support, collaborative spirit, and enthusiasm of students, faculty, and administration (Office of Student Affairs). We want to thank all our student volunteers who have contributed time, valuable insights, creativity, and rich experience. Most importantly, we want to thank those medical students who risked vulnerability and trusted a student volunteer to help them through rough spots.
Ever since the first day back in January when you introduced your group to our class, I know it helped me... Just knowing that someone out there existed who could identify and would be willing to help and talk to someone struggling with med school, or just other life issues that strike while someone is here. I really cannot tell you how much of a difference it makes to me to know that your group is there; it's a safety net for us.
